WHAT’S THE BIGGEST WEDDING FLORAL TREND FOR THE YEAR 2019

It is not true that the country style is not elegant! Let’s give birth to simple arrangements of leaves, branches, inserting lots of greenery with minimalist vibes. For a more dramatic effect, consider incorporating a canopy of greenery that hangs high above guests’ heads in case of wedding ceremony. If you are opting for long table, imagine a long garland of leaves dotted with copper candlesticks. The icing of the cake is the simple and elegant décor of the napkin or menu. Choose the right font or opt (if possible) on a hand-written calligraphy. To coordinate the entire day, do not forget the wedding cake. Get inspired from some samples we have found on interest!

 FALLEN FROM THE SKY

The leading floral designers have reinvented the wheel!… it is no secret that nothing is more stunning at a wedding than a cascade of flowers…. without appearing to be too extravagant, and above all for those couples who give great importance to presentation.

Yes, free reign to hanging decorations, falling like chandeliers from the sky, artfully decorated garlands or even entire ceilings.  We will happily admit that we love these, although in some cases they can steal the show and divert attention from the table decoration.

The trick is in finding the right balance between high and low, between the hanging decoration and what is on the table.. because we want the result to be as close to perfection as possible!

The Importance of Lighting at a Wedding Event

Lighting plays a major role in setting the mood and style of a wedding; from your photographs to showcasing the venue, lighting is such an important element in the overall wedding design, it creates such an atmosphere and ambiance in any setting. Here are some techniques and tips to help you with all the lighting aspects of your wedding design!

Consult The Experts

Quite a number of wedding venues offer a lighting service, if you are very lucky your venue will already have in-built lighting systems. Discuss the style and tone you are looking to achieve and decide what will work best for your layout. We recommend keeping it warm and romantic during dinner with blue hues and changing this to more party tones after dinner from magenta to vibrant reds – stick with block tones to avoid the “circus” effect – less is more!! If your venue does not supply a lighting service they should be able to recommend vendors who can help you.

Learn the Lingo

Familiarise yourself the common types of lighting techniques used by the professionals. This will give you ideas and help you to convey what you are looking to achieve. Here are some examples:

Up lighting is a technique where lights are placed on the ground and aimed upwards to project light on to a wall or object. This can be used to highlight certain elements of a room and to add drama to a room’s features. Uplighting can also be used to wash a room in colour; an interesting way to highlight a theme or separate sections of the room.

String lighting is the use of a strand of LED lights which can create a magical and romantic effect. They  have become popular at weddings as they are an energy efficient light source that emit less heat than regular incandescent light bulbs. Also, they are very budget-friendly.

Gobo Lighting (Goes Before Optics) slides a stencil over a light source to project an image onto a surface. In weddings this is most popularly used to project monograms of the bride and groom’s initials. Gobo lighting is a simple way to personalise and decorate an otherwise plain wall and can be used in a variety of ways to enhance a venue.

Assess Your Venue

Assess the lighting of your venue, it is important to look at the space objectively and get an idea of how the lighting of the room works. Take note of where the lighting is focused and whether this will work for your planned layout. Remember, you want to keep the guests eyes focused on the tables and dance floor, so ensure the lighting works to highlight these areas.

Whether you choose to go with a professional lighting service, or do your own DIY lighting, there’s no question that lighting can affect the entire mood of your wedding reception. Remember to keep in mind the look you are trying to achieve and the type of lighting that will flatter your guests. If in doubt, soft dim lighting creates a romantic feel that suits all skin types. Have fun experimenting and gather images that inspire you to get ideas.
